It was another visit to the lane and meadows this afternoon in bright sunshine. However that annoying strong south-westerly, which was gusting around 30mph, put paid to any serious bug hunting.

A pair of Rustic Sailor Beetles (Cantharis rustica). At first glance I thought the female had a tear in her wing-case. Look again though and it is one of the males legs.

This is a Diamond DA42 Twin Star Registration G-DSKY. Unfortunately I don't have any other info on this aircraft. And the reason I couldn't find any info on this aircraft is because it's registration isn't G-DSKY but G-OSKY. Thank you to Ed Wilson for pointing it out. So lets start again.
