RSPB Radipole Lake

It was a trip into Weymouth this morning and then a quick walk along the path adjacent to RSPB Radipole Lake.

There were a few highlights including an Emperor Dragonfly whizzing about in front of me and a first for me with Large Flax Flea Beetles (Aphthona euphorbiae).

3 Mallard
2 Gadwall
3 Black-headed Gull
4 Herring Gull
Wood Pigeon
1 House Martin
1 Cetti's Warbler
Carrion Crow
Goldfinch
Greenfinch

An adult Grey Heron fishing on the edge of the reedbeds.

..............three cygnets.

Time for a shake.

Two Gadwall

This Black-headed Gull was patrolling up and down the waterway for a fish snack.

And it looks like it was successful.

1 Red Admiral

This Red Admiral was not leaving the fishing pontoon for anyone.

If I moved it just moved to another spot.


Bees Recorded:
Common Carder (Bombus pascuorum)

Inside this Large Bindweed (Calystegia silvatica) is a Common Carder (Bombus pascuorum)


Hoverflies Recorded:
Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus)

On the way back home there was a SparrowhawkBuzzard and a Hobby over the nature reserve.
