Church Ope Car Park, Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle and Portland Museum
A very quick walk in the pouring rain, to see if the Yellow-browed Warbler was still in Penns Wood. If it was, it wasn't letting on, and the best I could do was a single Chiffchaff and 2 Goldcrests. Nothing of note on the rest of the walk until I got back to the car park, where there was another Chiffchaff.
Here are a few images from today:
Penns Wood looking very autumnal. Just a Chiffchaff and 2 Goldcrests here this morning.
On the felled Horse Chestnut Tree, in Penns Wood is this.........
.....................Smoky Bracket (Bjerkandera adusta). More on this fungi Here.
Birds Recorded: Herring Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Robin, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Goldcrest, Chaffinch and Goldfinch
If you can see it through the low cloud this is the Passenger Ship "Queen Elizabeth" flying the flag of Bermuda. It's just sailing out of Weymouth bay. More on this Vessel Here.
And another vessel making its way through mist and murk, the Maltese Passenger Ship "Marella Discovery" also just off the coast of Portland. More on this vessel Here.
