Wakeham Wood, Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Penns Copse and Mermaid Track
A pleasant day when the sun was out. Main highlights were a Common Whitethroat, 2 Blackcaps and a Chiffchaff in Wakeham Wood. Passing through here was a solitary Swallow.
In Penns Wood there was a Blackcap, Church Ope Cove a Chiffchaff, Penns Weare another Blackcap and 2 Common Whitethroat. And finally along the Mermaid Track another Common Whitethroat, 2 Blackcaps, a Chiffchaff and a fly-by Swallow. No Willow Warblers today.

A few butterflies about with a Wall Brown and Peacock in Penns Weare, and a Large White and Comma in the grounds of St Andrew's Church.
I came across a new emergence of Green-longhorn moths, this time across the road from the Cottage along the track by Wakeham Wood. There were also Green-longhorn moths along Penns Weare and the copse. Also on Penns Weare 3 Carnation Tortrix moths.
A few bees about with several Ashy Mining Bees in Penns Copse where there was also a Gooden's Nomad Bee and 2 Early Mining Bees. On the track here there was also a Buff-tailed Bumblebee.
In the grounds of St Andrew's Church there were a few Syrphus hoverflies and 4 Epistrophe eligans, whilst along the Wakeham Wood track there were 2 more Epistrophe eligans and a Common Drone Fly and a Dead Head Fly.
Just 3 Bloody-nosed Beetles with a pair mating on Penns Weare and 2 7-Spot Ladybirds in Wakeham Wood.

Moths Recorded: 4 Carnation Tortrix and 30+ Green-longhorn Moths.
Bees Recorded: Buff-tailed Bumblebees (Bombus terrestris), Early Mining Bee (Andrena haemorrhoa), Ashy Mining Bees (Andrena cineraria) and Gooden's Nomad Bee (Nomada goodeniana)
Hoverflies Recorded: 6 Epistrophe eligans, 1 Common Drone Fly (Eristalis tenax), a Dead Head Fly (Myathropa florea) and a few Syrphus sp.
Bugs and Beetles Recorded: 3 Bloody-nosed Beetles (Timarcha tenebricosa), 2 7-Spot Ladybirds (Coccinella septempunctata) and a Harlequin Ladybird (Harmonia axyridis)
Also Recorded: Celery Flies and a Nursery Web Spider
