Just a quick visit this morning and I timed it perfectly as the large flock of Long-tailed Tits entered the wood at the top of the slope. It took awhile to find the Yellow-browed Warbler in amongst the 20+ birds, but eventually it appeared above my head. I very flighty birds it was not easy to keep tabs on it, as it flitted from one tree to another high up in the canopy.
Eventually they all moved down to the trees in the grounds of St Andrews Church, where they were joined by 2 Firecrests, 5 Goldcrests and 2 Great Tits. The Yellow-browed Warbler was showing well above the archway to the church, but photographing it was almost impossible as it continually flew from one branch to another in its hunt for insects.
As I was short on time I headed back up the slope and came across another smaller flock of 10+ Long-tailed Tits with 2 Goldcrests in amongst them.
Here are a few images from this morning.

Also here a Grey Squirrel collects what I presumed to be leaves for bedding. With the wet weather we've had down here, I'm surprised he found any dry leaves!!
In the grounds of St Andres Church the "Church" Robin was in full song.

And another record shot of the Yellow-browed Warbler.
