Wakeham

The moth trap went out again last night and was a bit of a disaster as the wind had caught one of sloping sides (which divert the moths into the centre of the trap) and was slightly open. This meant a lot of moths had escaped and were still escaping when I approached the trap.

At least there were still a good number including a Brimstone Moth Opisthograptis luteolata (x1), a Common Marbled Carpet Dysstroma truncata (x1) and a Willow Beauty Peribatodes rhomboidaria (x1) amongst the escapees..

This time there were 45 moths of 21 species, including 2 new moth species for my Port & Wey moth list.

Also trapped was the same looking ichneumon wasp as yesterday.
