I haven't given up on visiting Chesil Cove, but with a busy day at home, it meant I wasn't able to visit today. Hopefully a trip tomorrow.
With that strong westerly still blowing hard, it was difficult to find anything of note. However coming across a pristine male Common Blue was an interesting find. It is most likely to be a second brood, but it could possibly be a third brood, especially here in the south.
What was noticeable was the absence of any "White" butterflies, but I did come across singles of Small Copper and Speckled Wood.
On the bird front a lone Chiffchaff was the only migrant noted.

Field Bindweed Convolvulus arvensis
The sea heads of Wild Clematis Clematis vitalba. This plant is also called Travellers’ Joy and Old Man’s Beard.
Where the sun only reaches the Wild Clematis at certain times during the day, the flowers are still in bloom.
That's why I wear a hat for those moments when you walk under a bramble!!
Sorry Ted, I had to go back for my hat.
