Wakeham

It was another hot day and a bit too warm for a walk, so as per yesterday, it was an afternoon spent in the back garden. Below are few things I found:

A Jackdaw heading towards the Lower Horse Paddocks to the north

This juvenile male House Sparrow looks like its been in the wars. However I suspect it has been raiding someones Raspberries.

And here is a juvenile female House Sparrow.

A Buff-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) on Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria)

Honey Bees on an Ice Plant (Hylotelephium spectabile).

A worker Red-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius) on Common Cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus)


Wasps, Ichneumon Wasps, Parasitic Wasps and Gall Wasps Recorded:
Common Wasp (Vespula vulgaris)


Hoverflies Recorded:
Common Dronefly (Eristalis tenax)
Hornet Plumehorn (Volucella zonaria)
Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus)
Syrphus sp.

And this Syrphus sp. was on the California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) again


Bugs and Beetles Recorded:
Rosemary Beetle (Chrysolina americana)

Its been awhile........

.........since I have seen a Rosemary Beetle. Here it........

...........trying to get off this plant. I helped it in the end.
