Wakeham
Unfortunately the weather forecast was absolutely spot on with heavy rain moving in by late morning. No chance of getting out, the only highlight was a Buzzard being harassed by the local Herring Gulls again.

Also an odd looking bug which Benji our Bichon Frisé was giving a piggyback. Turns out it is a Dusky Cockroach, Ectobius lapponicus.

This is a Dusky Cockroach, Ectobius lapponicus which is only found in southern England. It likes rough grasslands, mostly on the ground under dead leaves and on lower branches of small trees and shrubs. It is also found in coastal habitats so Portland certainly seems to meet all the above criteria..........
Adults grow up to 9mm long and can be seen on the wing in warm weather during the summer months.
