Church Ope Cove and Pennsylvania Castle Wood

Another lovely sunny day, albeit a cold one with that biting north-easterly wind. Main highlight was catching up with a Firecrest in the grounds of St Andrews Church. Other birds of interest were 4 Common Buzzards, a pair and 2 single birds, with one of the latter being mobbed by a Raven.

I had hoped the sun might have brought out a few insects, but apart from a couple of White-tailed Bumblebees the only other insect about was a Common Drone Fly.

Here are a few images:

A few Buzzards about today there was this one and ........

.....and a slightly darker individual.

Here another over Wakeham was being mobbed by a Raven.

A very vocal Great Black-backed Gull passing over Church Ope Cove.

This Kestrel was directly above me and only looked down at me when I whistled to it.
