Penns Wood and Church Ope Cove

Still sunny and warm, but very little seen on the bird front other than a Chiffchaff singing at Church Ope Cove.

There seemed to be fewer butterflies today with just 5 Peacock and a Green-veined White seen.

A 7-spot Ladybird was in Penns Wood and was the only 'bug' I found today.

Note:
On this day last year there was a Dartford Warbler on the slopes at The Bill and a Red Kite flying up Wakeham. Nothing like that today.

Church Ope Cove from St Andrew's Church

Rufus Castle from the cove. Just behind the blue Hut in the centre a Chiffchaff.......

.........was singing and feeding in the bushes. There is always the obligatory twig to spoil a photo.

A 7-spot Ladybird, Coccinella septempunctata in Penns Wood.

Birds Recorded: Herring Gull, Wood Pigeon, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, 1 Chiffchaff, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Chaffinch, Linnet and Goldfinch.

Reptiles Recorded: Wall Lizards
Butterflies Recorded: 5 Peacock and 1 Green-veined White.

Also Recorded: Buff-tailed Bumblebees, Honey Bees, Hoverflies sp. and a 7-spot Ladybird.
