Penns Wood and Church Ope Cove

Another blustery cloudy day, which appears to have held up the Chiffchaffs from their northward migration with 2 in Penns Wood where there were also 2 Goldcrests, and at the back of the cove their were 3 more Chiffchaffs and a Firecrest.

On the beach just 3 Rock Pipits and a Pied Wagtail, which once again feigned to land and then flew off again, whilst out to sea there were a good dozen or so Gannets heading down towards The Bill.

On the way back home a small party of 4 Meadow Pipits flew over.

Here are a few images from this morning:

A couple of photos of the Chiffchaffs in Penns Wood

Here is the second bird and........

.......they were accompanied by two Goldcrests.

Also in Penns Wood a Tree Bumblebee on a Russian Comfrey.

On the beach just 3 Rock Pipits........

.........the numbers have dropped right off as the gale force wind seems to have dispersed the Kelp Flies.

Out to sea a dozen or so Gannets.

The seas are quite rough......

.......but a bit quieter here on the east of the island
