Ferrybridge

A quick trip down to Ferrybridge and I was rewarded with distant views of 3 Little Terns in flight along the beach, adjacent to the Little Tern nest site. On the sandbank just off the beach here there were dozens of waders sp. and more terns. Whilst on the beach a Whimbrel and a Little Egret.

On the beach close to the main road 2 Oystercatchers (one with leg rings) and dozens of Herring Gulls, with 2 Common Terns and 3 Sandwich Terns by the Ferrybridge Marina.

Here are few images from this afternoon:

Very distant views of 2 Little Terns in flight and a Little Egret on the shoreline.

A pair of Oystercatchers with one adult sporting coloured leg rings on its right leg and a metal ring on its left.

A little closer a Common Tern by the Ferrybridge Marina.

And its mate.
