Church Ope Cove

A quick walk this morning before the rain arrived. Very quiet walk with just 4 Swallows, 1 House Martin, 3 Blackcaps and a Willow Warbler being the highlights.

In the grounds of St Andrew's Church, the Ivy flowers are just opening and providing an alternative food source than the Buddleia and Hemp Agrimony which are both now going over. There were Hornet Mimic Hoverflies, Common Drone Flies, Marmalade Hoverflies and both Peacock & Large Whites all feeding on the nectar. Also in the grounds a Wall Lizard and two Garden Spiders (Araneus diadematus).

In the woods behind St Andrew's Church a few Harvestman (Leiobunum blackwalli) on the nettles.

A few images from today including HMC Vigilant making its way around The Bill.
