Wakeham
More fence building in the back garden today and I'm glad I was, as yet again another Serin passed overhead. I say yet again, as twice before, I've heard birds over Rufus Castle and Bumpers lane Quarry. Are they breeding on the island or are these just individuals coming through. Who knows, but great to hear there are a few around.

Other highlights were a Kestrel which was ousted by a Magpie from its perch on top of a telegraph pole, This after a failed attempt by a Carrion Crow, and also a few House Martins, Swallows and a single Swift passing through.

A Red Admiral, a Large White and a Small White were the only butterflies seen in the garden today.

A Kestrel minding its own business when......

......out of nowhere a.........

........Carrion Crow attacks it.........

.......and then again. Amazingly the Kestrel stands it's ground, but.......

......has enough when a Magpie........

........dives in and chases it off.
